Ysgol fechan wledig yw Ysgol Felinwnda, yn ysgol hapus a chyfeillgar gyda’r
plant yn chwarae rôl bwysig yn y trefniadau dyddiol. Caiff pob plentyn gyfle i
ddatblygu yn ôl ei allu, a’r cymorth gorau all yr athrawon roi.
Rhannir yr ysgol yn ddau ddosbarth, blynyddoedd meithrin, derbyn, un, dau a
thri gyda Miss. Thomas, a blynyddoedd pedwar, pump a chwech gyda Mrs Evans. Nid
yw’r rhaniad yma yn gaeth oherwydd bydd y staff yn newid dosbarthiadau er mwyn
gwneud y mwyaf o gryfderau’r athrawon ac fel bod y plant yn cael yr addysg
orau bosibl.
Cred yr ysgol fod rhan y rhieni yn natblygiad y plentyn yn hanfodol, ac o’r
herwydd, mabwysiadwyd cynllun drws agored yma, ble mae’r rhieni yn gallu dod i’r
ysgol ar unrhyw adeg, gan wneud trefniant o flaen llaw, i ddod i drafod eu
plant.
"Ysgol i deulu" oedd disgrifiad un rhiant o ysgol Felinwnda, a dyma
yn union yw nod ac amcan y staff a’r llywodraethwyr, sef lle mae’r plant yn
teimlo’n saff a sicr ac felly yn ffynnu.
Mwynhewch eich taith o amgylch ein safwe.
Miss Carys Wyn Thomas (Pennaeth)
Ysgol Felinwnda, being a small rural school, can describe itself as having a
happy and friendly environment where the children have an important role in the
day-to-day arrangements. Each child is given the opportunity to develop
according to his or her own ability and receive the utmost support that the
teachers can offer.
The school is divided into two classes, Miss Thomas is in charge of Nursery,
Reception, Year 1, 2 and 3, whilst Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 remain with Mrs
Evans. This division is not rigidly adhered to because the staff exchange
classes so as to fully utilise the teachers’ strengths and so as to enable the
children to receive the best possible education.
It is the school’s belief that parents play a crucial role in their child’s
development, and consequently an open door policy exists here, an arrangement by
which following obtaining an appointment, parents may visit the school at any
time to discuss their children’s development.
One parent recently described Ysgol Felinwnda as "a Family School",
and that is exactly the aim and objective of staff and governors, namely to
ensure that the children feel secure and confident thus enabling them to
develop.
